To be a photographer in Chicago, one had to shoot food. My style was not the typical very formal food style and I had trouble selling myself at the beginning.

I found I loved taking photographs of people, so I made myself available to models and actors to shoot test photographs. This led to an excellent professional relationship with a lot of talented persons.
